Sameh Sokar
From Corporate
to Dive Operations
Sameh Sokar first breathed underwater in 1998 somewhere off the Red Sea coast. By 2004 he had walked away from a corporate career to do it full-time.
Twenty years later he runs two operations, holds instructor trainer status on six CCR platforms, and is one of two GUE Instructors in Egypt. His Red Sea — the one most divers never see — starts at 40 metres.
His peers include Pascal Bernabé, Ahmed Gabr, Tom Steiner, and Andrey Chistyakov. His students number in the hundreds.
